FAQs

  • Our rates are as follows:

-Individual therapy: $150 (50 minute session)

    -Group Therapy: $ 45 / person (90 minute session)

  • We accept exclusively private pay for therapeutic services—meaning we do not take insurance. This allows for more flexibility, agency, and autonomy in the therapeutic process for our clients.

Accessibility and affordability is also necessary. This is why sliding scale services are provided on a first-come first-serve basis, based upon individual need.

  • We get that things happen that are out of our control and take into consideration emergencies and difficult circumstances per situation. We ask that you please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment in order to avoid a charge to your credit card on file for the full rate of the session. You can cancel through the client portal or email your therapist directly.

  • Yes! A number of appointment slots are reserved for financial hardship to be inclusive of diverse demographics in our community that may be experiencing disproportionate economic or financial hardship. We encourage you to talk openly with your therapist about your financial budget and circumstances if they are impacting you and/or if you feel as though the rate of service is unsustainable at this time. We truly want you to get the support you need. If we do not have a slot available or can’t meet your budget, a list of resources will be provided for others in town who might be able to help. We also manage a waitlist for sliding scale services when full and will notify you when these appointments become available if you prefer.

  • We offer online therapy services exclusively at this time for individuals residing in the state of Texas

  • They hold a Masters in counseling, have passed the national counselors exam, and are working under supervision to obtain 3000 hours of clinical work required by the state to obtain full license. This can take anywhere from 18 months to 5 years to complete. Supervision does not mean that a supervisor will be attending sessions with an associate. Instead, during this time period, associates work with a board-certified supervisor who supports their development and offers private consultation. This experience is often compared to clinical experiences or residencies that medical professionals must complete as a part of their licensure process. Associates are highly qualified and offer clients skill, a wealth of contemporary psychological knowledge, as well as their supervisor's clinical expertise.

  • Confidentiality is imperative to the therapeutic process. You can be certain that whatever you convey in session will be kept confidential and private between you and your therapist. This helps to garner trust and honesty within a safe therapeutic alliance. We take confidentiality very seriously.

That said, there are specific circumstances where a therapist is legally bound to break confidentiality:

Legally mandated to report if they suspect child, elder, or dependent adult abuse.

Legally required to report if a client poses an imminent danger to others.

Required to respond to a court order issued by a judge.

Response in compliance to a national security investigation.

Other circumstances where we may share information include:

If the therapist believes you are an imminent danger of harming yourself.

During case consultation with other licensed medical professional as a means to provide you with competent and adequate care.

A therapist may provide records. provided written authorization from a client.

  • Above all we value honesty and provide compassionate, inclusive care for all of our clients.

All humans are welcome, respected, and included at True Mind. *Disclaimer: You are encouraged to 1. interview individual therapist prior to engaging in therapy to assess for fit, and 2. verify licensure of any counseling professional that you are considering working with through the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council. True Mind PLLC is not affiliated with these organizations and therefore cannot guarantee the quality of care that you may receive.
